2021 Fourmeaux Red Wine Mount Veeder, Napa Valley

The 2021 Fourmeaux Red Wine is a beautiful and extremely elegant cuvée. It’s all there: bright and deep color, fragrant, intensity,harmony, layers, fullness, weight...yet it shows no sense heaviness.

It’s all in the balanced power of all the elements. Pure cassis, red & blue fruits, graphite, fresh sage, and violets all define the nose, and it’sfull-bodied, with wonderful freshness, ripe tannins, and a long finish. It is an elegant and streamlined example of what a steady warm summer gives this beauty compared to the hot weather of 2018 or 2016, very similar in fact to the classic 2013 - we love its balance and purity and its length. A wonderful wine to come back to in five, ten, twenty years.
