You are one of the lucky ones, this is a magic wine…as the VGS Cabernet Franc pulls a disappearing act the day it is released!

Red fruits like raspberries, cranberries, and pomegranate shine in this wine. Cigar box, fresh basil, thyme, cinnamon, graphite, licorice, and allspice are also part of the enchanting nose. Decanting will allow for the delicate floral aromas of violets and roses to tease and tempt. With air the wine really opens to reveal its true character and unmistakably, THIS is a mountain grown Cabernet Franc!
The 2022 VGS Cabernet Franc has a wonderful ripe and round mouthfeel with vibrant acidity and firm, but not aggressive tannins.

This wine will be beautiful to taste as it ages. The future is bright for this baby!

Pure power! SO gorgeously expressive on the nose. Upon its first impression, this wine demands attention with its deep, dark color that immediately warns you not to spill any on the carpet, couch, or clothes!
Aromas of ripe red, black, and blue fruits and berries jump from the glass!
Strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, boysenberries…they are all there, and they are all so fresh. A sweet and spicy character follows with freshly ground dusty black pepper, vanilla, mocha, cocoa, and brown sugar.

Honestly, this 2022 Petite Sirah is really such a dynamic wine. It leads with its seemingly endless jammy ripe fruits, before tempting you with the spice, brown sugar and chocolate then it turns the corner as it presents its floral side with the violets only to finish with the earthy notes and minerality.

Such an interesting wine…take your time and let this wine breathe in your glass, come back to it often and watch as she evolves in front of your eyes!

...and the 2021 VGS Zinfandel is simply put-STUNNING!
It is a symphony of aromas and flavors filling your nose and mouth with pure pleasure.

Dark red and black berries abound accented by fields of wildflowers, spices as if you were in a Moroccan spice market-this wine is really beautiful. In the mouth, it take over completely, coating  every taste bud with its weight and presence.

On the finish, it stays with you forever.

The practice of establishing a “second wine” began in the 18th century as way for Bordeaux winemakers to be more selective of the wine going into their estate label. The goal was to increase the quality of the “Grand Vin” (i.e. VGS) and also create a very good second wine, which can typically be enjoyed, younger and costs less.

Since then, a lot of the top chateaux have added a third wine. That strict selection between the lots and the barrels, ensure the very best quality for the Grand Vin and a tremendous quality/value for the second vin.

At VGS, we have done that by adding Potelle Two which makes our selection process even stricter. 

Potelle Two, the second wine of Potelle, was born from this tradition.

In the mouth the wine has a nice structure, the weight is good, it sits well, it is round and ample but it also presents a nice suppleness that balances the structure and ensure earlier drinkability. The finish is very long.

Having been born and raised in Bordeaux, France but having lived in the Napa Valley for the past 35 years, I wanted to merge these two great wine cultures and create something really unique... a wine from my "two homes".

So, I have partnered with my favorite cousin in Bordeaux to blend a completely appropriate and imaginative wine. I am proud to introduce and offer this one-of-a-kind wine to you!

Aromatically this wine says “I am from Napa” with bright red and black berries, cocoa and spices. Once you take a sip, the Old-World, Classic Bordeaux texture and subtle fruit flavors dominate. We have tasted many Master Sommeliers and winemakers blind on this wine, and each time they are confused, intrigued, perplexed and amazed…we think you will be too!

A long growing season gave way to wonderful phenolic maturity and an abundance of crop.  This Chardonnay displays Intense tropical and ripe stone fruit aromas: lychee, white nectarine and peach.  In the mouth, the fruit profile evolves from banana and pineapple to spice such as ginger and toasty coconut.  This is the perfect wine to enjoy with some sunshine or with your favorite Thai food.

2018 will go down as one-of-the-greatest vintages in Napa Valley history.
The wines across the board are stunning, simply a dream!
A deep garnet-purple color greets you as intoxicating aromas of ripe cherries, black truffles, and crème de cassis accented by cigar box and savory bay laurel fill your nose. Loads of black fruit fill your palate with firm mountain tannins.

82% Cabernet Sauvignon
7% Cabernet Franc
6% Malbec
5% Petit Verdot

The dark, inky color may mislead you! Oh yes, the wine is concentrated and dense but it is not as blockbuster and tannic as the color might let you think.

The wine has a very intense and expressive nose, rich, deep, going and going. It is loaded with ripe dark fruits – boysenberry, black cherry and plums – with soft tones of vanilla, cedar and a nice earthiness. It is really a nice, well integrated bouquet.

Body weight and bright acidity immediately attacks the palate and you feel the concentration of flavors. Then you go through layers after layers delivering the ripe black fruits, fresh herbs and spicy black pepper flavors. The finish is long and firm with a strong, lasting tannic structure, ensuring a long life for this often misunderstood wine.
